LEGO TIE Fighter Pilot Helmet 75274
RRP: $59.99 | €59.99
Year Released: 2020
Pieces: 724
The first LEGO Star Wars helmet collection set in the series is the TIE Fighter Pilot helmet. Depicting the incredible helmet worn by the pilots who fly TIE Fighters for the Empire in the original Star Wars trilogy, this was a perfect beginning to the series. It was released at the same time as two other sets – the Stormtrooper Helmet and Boba Fett helmet.
This set contains 724 pieces, which makes it the most detailed out of the original wave of 3 sets that were released in 2020. However, its all-black color can make it less obvious just how much detail is in the set. There are also two printed Imperial insignias on this helmet, which make it difficult to replicate this build with regular parts you may have lying around.
LEGO TIE Fighter Pilot Helmet was released in April 2020, and retired in December 2021, which gave it a shelf life of over a year and a half. During that time, it was exclusive to certain retail stores and suffered from low supply. As a result, when it retired this set increased dramatically in price very quickly, and has become well known in the LEGO investing communities.
LEGO Stormtrooper Helmet 75276
RRP: $59.99 | €59.99
Year Released: 2020
Pieces: 647
Arguably one of the most iconic helmets from any movie series out there, the LEGO Stormtrooper Helmet 75276 is a must-buy for any collector of the LEGO Star Wars helmet series. This helmet comes from the original Star Wars trilogy, similar to all of the other sets from the first two waves of helmet sets released.
With 647 pieces, mostly consisting of that iconic white and black color that we all know and love, the LEGO Stormtrooper Helmet is a fan-favorite. It is extremely recognizable when it is fully built, due to some excellent choices made by the designer. The markings on the helmet come from stickers, and add some nice detail to the set.
LEGO Stormtrooper Helmet was released in April 2020 and retired in December 2021, which gave it a shelf life of around a year and a half.
LEGO Boba Fett Helmet 75277
RRP: $59.99 | €59.99
Year Released: 2020
Pieces: 625
LEGO Boba Fett Helmet is the third and final set in the first wave of LEGO Star Wars helmet sets released in 2020, and it is another iconic entry into the series. Boba Fett is a beloved character from the original Star Wars trilogy, making his debut in The Empire Strikes Back, and more recently starring in his own show on Disney Plus – The Book of Boba Fett. It’s no surprise that this set is the most popular from the original three sets released, in terms of sales volume.
This set consists of 625 pieces, which is the lowest piece count from the first wave of helmet sets. However, that doesn’t mean it lacks detail. A great use of color makes for an instantly recognizable depiction of Boba Fett’s green, red and black helmet. Although most of the parts used in this set are common, it uses some interesting building techniques, and overall is a well-reviewed set for building and displaying.
LEGO Boba Fett Helmet was released in April 2020. It had the longest shelf life of the three sets from the first wave of Star Wars helmets, as it did not retire in December 2021 alongside TIE Fighter Pilot Helmet and Stormtrooper Helmet. Instead, Boba Fett Helmet stayed on the shelves for an additional year, for a total shelf life of over 2 and a half years.
LEGO Darth Vader Helmet 75304
RRP: $69.99 | €69.99
Year Released: 2021
Pieces: 834
LEGO Darth Vader Helmet 75304 is perhaps the most well-known set from the entire range, and for a good reason. There is arguably no villain as well known as Darth Vader, and no helmet as recognizable in pop culture. This was not the first depiction of a Darth Vader Helmet (there was a previous effort in 2019 with Darth Vader Bust, set number 75227). However, the LEGO Star Wars Darth Vader Helmet set is a much better depiction of the Sith Lord.
This set has over twice the number of pieces as the first Darth Vader Bust set, with 834 pieces in this one, which also makes it the largest piece count from the first few years of LEGO Star Wars helmets. It had a slightly higher MSRP than the other sets in the first waves of Star Wars helmets, but the higher number of pieces makes up for it, and overall this set has a very reasonable price-per-piece, at 8.4c.
As mentioned by some reviewers of this set, the building techniques used in the Darth Vader Helmet are exceptional, and very different to many of the other sets in the series.

LEGO Scout Trooper Helmet 75305
RRP: $49.99 | €49.99
Year Released: 2021
Pieces: 471
LEGO Scout Trooper Helmet is a set from the original trilogy of Star Wars movies, first appearing for some iconic chasing scenes with Luke Skywalker on the forest moon of Endor during Return of the Jedi. These troopers are preferred over Stormtroopers when light mobility and speed is necessary, and their helmet is almost as iconic and well-known.
This set has the lowest number of pieces from the first two waves of LEGO Star Wars Helmet sets, with just 471 pieces inside this one. This is due largely to the bulky square shape of the helmet, which is easily achieved by using larger plates in the build, removing the need for many smaller parts to make up a lot of the front of this helmet. The set also had the lowest retail price, at just $49.99 in the United States.
LEGO Scout Trooper Helmet was released in April 2021, and had a shelf life of around a year and a half before its retirement in December 2022.
LEGO Luke Skywalker (Red Five) Helmet 75327
RRP: $59.99 | €59.99
Year Released: 2022
Pieces: 675
LEGO Luke Skywalker Helmet 75327 was the first set to kick off the third wave of LEGO Star Wars helmets, which released in 2022. This set depicts Luke’s Red Five helmet, which he wore in Star Wars: A New Hope while attacking the Death Star. It was the first set in the LEGO Star Wars Helmet collection to not focus on a full face-covering helmet, as this one has an empty space at the front where Luke’s face would be visible.
This set has 675 pieces, which makes for a highly detailed helmet set. It is packed full of interesting design choices, ranging from the beautiful trans-orange googles, to the colorful red and yellow top and sides of the helmet. The chin strap is a particularly interesting feature and really helps to round out this design.

LEGO The Mandalorian Helmet 75328
RRP: $59.99 | €59.99
Year Released: 2022
Pieces: 584
One of the most recognizable helmets in the Star Wars universe in more recent years has to be this one. LEGO The Mandalorian Helmet is an excellent depiction of the helmet worn by the main protagonist in the Disney Plus show The Mandalorian, which has quickly become a huge fan-favorite.
This set is complete with 584 pieces, which is below average for the Star Wars helmet series. However, similar to Boba Fett helmet, the design works well and is instantly recognizable. The set is made up of silver, grey and black components, which makes for a nice change from the many black helmets in the line-up. This set looks amazing when displayed on a shelf next to the other sets.

LEGO Dark Trooper Helmet 75343
RRP: $59.99 | €59.99
Year Released: 2022
Pieces: 693
Rounding out the third wave of LEGO Star Wars Helmets is LEGO Dark Trooper Helmet 75343. Depicting the helmet of the terrifying Dark Troopers, which first appeared in Star Wars: Commander, and played a major role during Season 2 of The Mandalorian, this LEGO set marks another great entry to the LEGO Star Wars Helmet Collection for the forces of the Galactic Empire.
This set is complete with 693 pieces, which is above the average piece count from the other helmets in the series, and makes this set particularly detailed. It has some excellent design choices, and the use of curved parts for the mouthpiece and along the sides of the helmet make for a menacing look. The red eyes add even more, although I do wish the studs were not as visible there.
LEGO Dark Trooper Helmet was released in March 2022.
