If you are a huge fan of LEGO, and a huge fan of Pirates of the Caribbean, then the LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean range of sets may just be one of your favorite LEGO themes of all time.
The LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean theme is a series of LEGO sets that are centered around the Pirates of the Caribbean movies. Launching in 2011, the initial wave of sets consisted of 14 sets if you count the small booster packs and poly bags, or 9 main sets if you exclude them. Later, there was another addition to the series in 2017 with the launch of the Silent Mary 71042 set.
The initial wave of sets from 2011 had all retired by December 2012, and ever since then, fans of the theme and the film series have been hungry for more LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean. But what sets did we get in the theme? Read on to find out.
Isla De Muerta 4181

Released in May 2011, Isla De Muerta was the first entry into the LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean series. It released at the same time as a handful of other sets, but this one was given the lowest set number in the list. Isla De Muerta is a 152-piece set that is focused on the mysterious island of the dead located somewhere in the Caribbean. The island does not appear on any maps, and its location is a complete mystery to those who have not been there before.
This set is complete with 4 minifigures, and all 4 of them are unique to this set and don’t appear elsewhere. They are Captain Jack Sparrow Skeleton, Elizabeth Swann Turner, Hector Barbossa, and Skeleton Barbossa.
The LEGO Isla De Muerta 4181 was retired in December 2012, after just over a year and a half on the shelves. In the years following its retirement, this set grew significantly in value, and had a stronger annual growth rate than most of the other sets in the Pirates of the Caribbean theme. However, there were some sets that grew even more in value than this one.
The Cannibal Escape 4182

The second set in the wave of LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean sets is The Cannibal Escape, with set number 4182. Consisting of 279 pieces, this set was focused on the events from the second movie in the series – Dead Man’s Chest – where Captain Jack Sparrow finds himself trying to escape from a group of cannibals.
This set comes complete with the minifigures for Captain Jack Sparrow in Cannibal disguise, Will Turner, and two Cannibals, for a total of 4 minifigures. Three of the minifigures are unique to this set, with Will Turner appearing in 2 other sets in addition to this one. We also get two snakes, a bone cage, a roasting spit, and a cannibal hut.
The Mill 4183

The Mill 4183 is a LEGO set that is focused on the events from Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest. It was released in 2011, and contained 365 pieces for an MSRP price of $39.99. Centered around some of the most important scenes in the movie, this set is an important one for any collector of the series.
This set consists of 4 minifigures, including Jack Sparrow, Will Turner, Admiral Orrington, and Hadras. It also features a large mill wheel that can detach from the rest of the set, an incredible tower, and the Dead Man’s Chest.
The Black Pearl 4184

The Black Pearl 4184 is the flagship set in the entire series of LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean sets. Depicting the ship that is a core part of the entire franchise, this 804-piece set has become a holy-grail LEGO set for collectors all around the world.
This set consists of 6 minifigures, with 4 of them being unique to this set alone. The minifigures include Bootstrap Bill, Captain Jack Sparrow (wearing a jacket), Davy Jones, Joshamee Gibbs, Maccus, and Will Turner. Will and Joshamee both exist in other sets, while the others are unique to the Black Pearl.
The LEGO Black Pearl 4184 was released in November 2011, half of a year later than the initial wave of Pirates of the Caribbean sets. It retired in December 2012, for a shelf life of just over one year. Since its retirement, The Black Pearl 4184 has grown significantly in value due to it becoming a highly demanded but hard-to-find LEGO set.

The main focus of this set is the minifigures. It consists of 3 in total, including Captain Jack Sparrow, and two zombies – the Gunner Zombie, and the Yeoman Zombie. None of the minifigures are unique to this set, and all appear in other sets.

Queen Anne’s Revenge 4195

After The Black Pearl, this is the set that is arguably the most iconic in the original line-up of Pirates of the Caribbean LEGO sets. Queen Anne’s Revenge 4195 is a set that consists of 1097 pieces, and depicts the famous ship which is captained by Blackbeard.
The Queen Anne’s Revenge set is complete with a whopping 9 minifigures, four of which are unique to this set. The minifigures include Angelica, Blackbeard, Captain Jack Sparrow, Cook, Gunner Zombie, Quartermaster Zombie, Queen Anne’s Revenge Masthead, Skeleton, and Yeoman Zombie.
LEGO Queen Anne’s Revenge was released in May 2011, making it the first ship that was released in the series, even before The Black Pearl made its debut. It retired in December 2012, giving it a shelf life of just over a year and a half. Since retirement, Queen Anne’s Revenge has grown significantly in value due to it being a massive fan favorite from LEGO fans and Pirates of the Caribbean fans alike.

LEGO Silent Mary 71042 is a set from Dead Men Tell No Tales, the fifth movie in the Pirates of the Caribbean series. This set was the only set in this list to be released in the second wave of Pirates of the Caribbean LEGO sets, over six years after the initial launch of the series. By this point, The LEGO Group had changed their set numbering to the more modern 5 digits that we see today.
Silent Mary is by far the largest set in the theme, with a whopping 2294 pieces and a price point of $199.99. It also contained 8 minifigures, and due to the set being released so long after the initial wave of sets, all 8 of the variants of minifigures in this set are unique and don’t appear in other sets. The minifigures include Captain Jack Sparrow (in a white open shirt), Captain Salazar, Henry, Carina Smyth, Lieutenant Lesaro, Officer Magda, Officer Santos, and Silent Mary Masthead.
LEGO Silent Mary 71042 was released in April 2017 and retired in January 2019, for a shelf life of just under 2 years. This set is the third pirate ship to be released in the LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean theme, following the Queen Anne’s Revenge and The Black Pearl in 2011.
