The LEGO Disney Theme is giving fans the ability to construct iconic buildings such as the LEGO Walt Disney World 71040, just to mention one.
In January of 2020 LEGO initiated a new subtheme, the LEGO Disney Storybooks. Those books are hinged and allow enthusiasts to transform a book into a wonderful Disney display. Four Storybooks were launched in 2020 and two more followed in 2021.
This article will cover the technical facts of each Storybook, as well as their content and shelf life. Read on to find out more!
LEGO Mulan’s Storybook Adventures 43174

The first set in the Disney Storybook subtheme is LEGO Mulan’s Storybook Adventures 43174. The architectural design in this set is noticeable though simplistic to appeal to a younger audience.
This specific LEGO set contains 124 pieces and 3 minifigures all of which are exclusive to this set. Once built, the movie Mulan is well represented on this first Storybook set. Another highlight is Mulan’s horse Khan, which is also included in this set. On one side of the storybook, a bridge is located that leads to the two temples displayed at the center of the design. The left side of the bridge gives access to the river, in which the soldiers in the movie took baths. The final construction is colorful and perfectly adapted to the original film from 1998.
LEGO Mulan’s Storybook Adventures 43174 was released in January of 2020 and retired in December of 2020, which gave it a shelf life of just one year.
LEGO Anna and Elsa’s Storybook Adventures 43175

The second set is this LEGO category is Anna and Elsa’s Storybook Adventures 43175. Included are the four most known Frozen characters as LEGO minifigures: Anna, Elsa, Kristoff and Olaf!
The set features 133 pieces, which makes it the biggest Storybook yet. As mentioned, four minifigures are included and only Olaf will appear in another set. The minifigures can be put on a sled, which is also included, but lets concentrate on the main focus: The Storybook. Just as every set in this subtheme, this set has a bridge on the left side, which enters through the main building in the center of the book. This building is the famous castle of Arandelle from the Disney film, Frozen. This is another simply built set that plays good homage to one of Disney’s most popular movies of this day and age.
LEGO Anna and Elsa’s Storybook Adventures 43175 was released in January 2020 and retired in December of 2021, which gave it a shelf life of two years.
LEGO Ariel’s Storybook Adventures 43176

The next set in the LEGO Disney Storybook theme is Ariel’s Storybook Adventures, set 43176. This one has been designed with great detail! There are two variations of Ariel and one Prince Eric minifigure. This Storybook comes with the two iconic characters Sebastian and Flounder as well.
105 pieces and three minifigures that can’t be found elsewhere are featured in this LEGO set. Ariel’s underwater palace is located in the center of the book including an opening clamshell and a slide on the left side that represents an entrance to the sea. The palace is decorated with coral reef, underwater plants and many golden elements that stand for Ariel’s royal family.
LEGO Ariel’s Storybook Adventures 43176 was released in January 2020 and retired in December of 2021, which gave it a shelf life of two years.
LEGO Belle’s Storybook Adventures 43177

LEGO collectors all around the world were thrilled when this LEGO set came out. Another classic Disney story told through this Storybook theme, this set certainly did the movie The Beauty and the Beast justice!
LEGO Belle’s Storybook Adventures 43177 contains 111 pieces and six minifigures: Beast, Belle, Chip Potts, Cogsworth, Mrs. Potts and Wardrobe. Four out of them are exclusive to this set. The Beast’s castle from the nostalgic Disney film, is in the center of the LEGO building and splits the set into two sceneries: The inside of the castle on one side and the outside on the other. Similar to the other Storybook sets, this set features two sticker sheets to personalize the LEGO set.
The LEGO Belle’s Storybook Adventures 43177 was launched in January 2020 and retired in December of 2021, giving it a shelf life of two years.
LEGO Elsa and the Nokk Storybook Adventures 43189

It is evident that there are lots of Frozen fans out there, because LEGO launched a second Frozen Storybook in 2021! The LEGO Elsa and the Nokk Storybook Adventures 43189, to be more specific.
Featured in this set are 125 pieces and five minifigures: Earth Giant, Two Elsa variations, Olaf and Queen Iduna with four out of the five being exclusive to this set. The main building represents Elsa’s ice palace from the well-known Disney film: Frozen II. Also featured is Nokk, the magic water horse.
The LEGO Elsa and the Nokk Storybook Adventures 43189 launched in January 2021 and is still available! So if you like the set design, make sure to grab it, before it disappears from the shelves.
LEGO Ariel, Belle, Cinderella and Tiana’s Storybook Adventures 43193

Let’s finish off with the last set in this subtheme: LEGO Ariele, Belle, Cinderella and Tiana’s Storybook Adventures 43193. It is the most expensive Storybook so far.
It comes with five minifigures: Ariel, Belle, Cinderella, Lumière and Tiana. All princesses have golden crowns and golden hues are common throughout the set to give it a royal look. An adorable little dolphin and a similarly cute little bear are also included. The castle has banners imprinted all around. Every banner stands for a each individual princess. For example, a golden shell represent Ariel.
The LEGO Ariel, Belle, Cinderella and Tiana’s Storybook Adventures 43193 launched in August 2021 and is still available at the moment of this writing. Make sure to grab one before it retires!
